This collective movement, supported through social media, is an intriguing sociological event. By staying present day and night, the group ‘contains’ an area physically and psychologically. The media presence, when I visited the Occupy Toronto park, is ongoing in this situation. The irritation it provides for neighbouring businesses and inhabitants is ongoing which allows for more potential media coverage. But, you are right, after a while, one has to believe that a) the message is lost if there ever was one and b) the health concerns outweigh benefits of spreading the message. I think what else hurt them is that most of us simply did not ‘get’ the message. But, I am impressed with the global realization of their ‘occupy’ dream.

Yikes – I agree with you on the surgery! I think the Occupy protests have gotten a bit ridiculous and most have been or are in the process of being shut down due to health and sanitation reasons. I’m not sure why people couldn’t just protest by day and go home at night like their intended audience does!

Better savour these last couple of months, I have a feeling you’ll be missing it. Maybe not right away but at some point. Than again, you’ll be leaving your dream life at the cottage so maybe not;)

Definitely will miss the career. As you know from your years in education, because you are dealing with ‘the future’ and with people, it’s really all about relationships. And, those, I will miss. The students, their families and the staff are all people that have touched me and I hope I have touched all of them in a positive way. Thanks for posting.
